Pelvic Acupuncture Practicals: A Hands-On Path to Confident Pelvic Care
Pelvic health concerns impact millions of people across all genders, yet pelvic care remains one of the most underserved areas in modern healthcare. As acupuncturists, we are uniquely positioned to bridge this gap — but many practitioners lack the hands-on training needed to confidently and ethically provide pelvic care in their clinics.
That’s where Pelvic Acupuncture Practicals come in.
Hosted by The Pelvic Acu, these immersive, in-person trainings are designed to equip licensed acupuncturists with the practical skills, clinical confidence, and anatomical understanding required to integrate pelvic care into real-world practice.
What Are the Pelvic Acupuncture Practicals?
The Pelvic Acupuncture Practicals are two-day, in-person, hands-on workshops created specifically for acupuncturists who want to expand their scope into pelvic health. These practicals emphasize experiential learning — moving beyond theory and into palpation, assessment, needling, and treatment application.
Each practical is approved for 20 CEUs/PDAs through NCCAOM and select state boards, making it both clinically transformative and professionally valuable.
Upcoming 2026 locations include:
Louisville, Colorado — March 28–29
Los Angeles, California — April 25–26
Vienna, Virginia — May 16–17
Additional locations are added throughout the year.
Why Pelvic Care Training Matters
Pelvic dysfunction often presents as:
Chronic pelvic pain
Hip, low back, or sacral pain
Urinary or bowel dysfunction
Sexual pain or dysfunction
Postpartum or post-surgical complications
While these conditions are common, many acupuncturists report feeling uncertain about pelvic anatomy, assessment, and safe needling techniques. Without proper training, practitioners may avoid pelvic care altogether — leaving patients without access to effective, integrative treatment.
The Pelvic Acupuncture Practicals were created to close this gap with clear, ethical, and clinically grounded instruction.
What You’ll Learn During the Practicals
This training is intentionally structured to prioritize hands-on learning with guided instruction and peer practice.
Day One: Foundations & Assessment
Day one focuses on building a strong clinical foundation, including:
Pelvic anatomy review (with both Western and TCM perspectives)
Safety, ethics, and consent in pelvic care
Palpation techniques for pelvic structures
Pelvic health evaluation and clinical reasoning
Demonstrations of muscle-specific Ashi point (MSAP) needling and dry needling
Supervised peer practice
Day Two: Treatment & Integration
Day two emphasizes clinical application:
Treatment planning for common pelvic presentations
Advanced palpation and needling techniques
Full treatment cycles
Continued hands-on practice with instructor feedback
Strategies for integrating pelvic care into an existing acupuncture practice
By the end of the weekend, participants leave with skills they can immediately apply in clinic.
A Truly Experiential Learning Environment
Unlike lecture-heavy courses, the Pelvic Acupuncture Practicals are designed to be interactive and embodied. Participants are encouraged to practice palpation, assessment, and needling in a supportive environment with experienced supervision.
Consent and comfort are central to the experience. Practitioners may choose their level of participation, ensuring autonomy and safety throughout the weekend.
There are no printed handouts — all preparatory materials and resources are provided digitally prior to the training so participants can arrive ready to fully engage.
Who Should Attend?
These practicals are ideal for:
Licensed acupuncturists interested in pelvic health
Practitioners specializing in women’s health, men’s health, fertility, orthopedics, or chronic pain
Acupuncturists seeking hands-on skill development rather than purely theoretical education
Clinicians ready to expand their scope ethically and confidently
Select students and allied professionals may be considered with prior approval.
